Women in Security

Opportunities for women within the security industry have never been so good in the past as it is nowadays. Whether you want
to pursue a professional career within the security industry and are looking  to receive additional training than the training that
you received in your countries local course, or further your skills and safety for the benefit of your daily life, security training with
Haganah Security International has a great deal more to offer.

There is an great increasing demand for well trained professional women within the security industry, but many women
dismiss such a career because they think they have to be physically big and strong, when in reality many excellent security
personnel are simply big in personality and character as well as  strong in assertiveness.

In many businesses, a woman is often the very first person encountered when entering the building, whether in universal roles
such as:

  •    receptionists
  •    bar-staff
  •    office person
  •    nurses
  •    shop assistants

or roles more identifiable to the security industry itself, such as:

  •   Military Forces
  •   Police
  •   Security guarding
  •   Nightclub security
  •   Customs officials
  •   Immigration personnel
  •   Private Investigators
  •   Bodyguards

…all the  careers listed above are here daily to meet and greet the public. It would only be logical to equip them with the skills
to deal swiftly with any problem/conflicts or disagreements. It also makes sense to consider our courses in Physical
Intervention and First Aid (see below). In addition, some women may wish to consider the benefits of assertiveness training.

Safety and security for women is a big issue and many female students feel that learning the skills to combat sexual
harassment and physical/verbal assault among many other important lifestyle issues such as drug awareness, increases
their confidence and self esteem throughout their daily lives.

Women have natural skills when it comes to diffusing situations, and some working environments and circumstances benefit
from the female presence. For example, when it comes to the provision of first aid in any environment, the general public and
employees would like the opportunity to choose between male or female security staff wherever possible. The security industry
is recruiting women into positions such as Nightclub and Hotel Supervisors and Security Guards/Bodyguards across all
sectors.

It is now a legal requirement for anyone working as a nightclub security/security guards supervisor to hold an appropriate
license issued by the Security Industry Authority. It will also be illegal to operate as a Security Guard without a license.
There is a countrywide shortage of fully trained professionals - female professionals in particular are a highly sought-after
resource. The security industry is seeking to invest in women as a key part of driving the continued improvement in delivering a
professional, qualified and valued product.
